Lower taxes, inclusion, a job, and more sunshine

July 9, 2010

When asked what would make them stay a little longer in Denmark, our readers are — so far — divided on whether lower taxes or a more inclusive culture would do the trick:

  1. (Shared) Lower taxes (23%) and a more inclusive culture (23%)
  2. Finding a job (17%)
  3. More lenient visa and residency rules (8%)

Oh, and 5% mention, somewhat ironically, more sunshine and better weather…

It’s never too late to participate in the on-going poll, so take 2 seconds to participate: What would make you stay longer?

The only (main ) reason for any expat to stay longer in denmark is its efficient welfare system managed by rhe kommune(s) otherwise 1) getting a job in denmark is very difficult, it is almost a neccesity to know the danish language very well(to get a job), 2) denmark is a very expensive country to live compared to rest of europe, 3) surprisingly, danes are not warm people especially the women ( reasons unknown ) 4) the climate is probably the most volatile in the wrold, weather changes every hour, yes denmark needs more sunshine.

The positive sides of staying longer in denmark for expats could be 1) safety of life and living in its cities, 2) facilities of basic necessities and comforts of life ( not leading to frustations ) due to the discplined system followed at all places, 3) non stressed work culture which includes freedom to working hours, flexibility to adjustments to personal needs, holidays, less hierarchy in office, the job benefits 4) convinience of communicating in english at all places within denmark.
